Many people I work with love life when they’re connecting. But if they sense the vibes are off, a pit opens inside them and anxiety swallows them up.
They are often activists, healers, or an informal therapist for friends. But sometimes it’s like no matter how much they give, they can’t get that same energy back. On hard days, they feel lonely and afraid they’re not enough.
They replay conversations in their head or run a text by five friends before sending. When that person finally texts back, the relief feels great but fades fast. A new thing to stress about is always around the corner.
I work with curious, self-aware people who like learning about mental health. Before coming to therapy, they often believed in theory that nobody else defined their worth. But the knowledge wasn’t changing how they felt.
